Debian Operating System is one of the many different linux distributions available on the market. It is faily easy to install and comes with precompiled package bundles.

You have the linux kernel, which is the heart and soul of the operating system, and then all the different software you install sitting on top of it. Debian is not yet fully compatible with many of the control panels (like cPanel and Plesk) available on the market.

The debian system uses the “apt-get” system to install and update software on the server. It is an open source software and the developers make sure to fully test the operating system before releasing updates.
